Tooth Extractions in Northeast Edmonton
There are times when keeping a tooth just isn’t possible. Decay may have weakened it beyond repair, infection can spread deeper than a filling or root canal can reach, or an accident might leave a tooth fractured. In other cases, there’s simply no room — teeth crowd, shift, and create long-term issues if one isn’t removed. When that happens, an extraction is the safest path forward.

Why an Extraction Might Be Needed
Every case is different, but common reasons include:
Our role is to walk you through the options. If we recommend removal, it’s because it helps prevent bigger problems later.
What the Appointment Is Like
Before anything begins, we make sure the area is fully numb. The tooth is carefully loosened and lifted out. Some cases are straightforward and quick, others take a little more time — it depends on the tooth and its position. If stitches are needed, we’ll place them before you leave. Then you’ll go home with clear, written instructions on how to care for the area while it heals.
Healing and Next Steps
Most people recover within a week. You may need to adjust what you eat, keep the area clean, and avoid certain activities for a few days. We’ll check on healing, and if replacement is necessary, we’ll discuss bridges, implants, or other options once the site has recovered.
